Video works. Period.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words is a video worth?

I would say more than thousands. Video is priceless and this is why.

More than 1 billion users watch 6 billion hours of videos per month on YouTube alone.

Every day 100 million Internet users watch at least one video online, and the typical Internet user is exposed to 32.2 videos on average each month.
Video attracts three times as many monthly visitors, doubles their time on the website and increase organic traffic from search engine.

Here are some facts:

  • Embedded videos can increase website traffic by up to 55%.
  • 33% of tablet owners watch at least one hour of video on their device each day.
  • Videos build trust: consumers who watch videos about a product or a service are 73% more likely to buy than consumers who do not.
  • Video drives engagement on Facebook: a combination of videos and images are the key to super exposure.
  • Videos (and in general all types of media) helps Press Release to be spread easily and wider. In fact, they can be distributed separately on more than 70 video-specific portals and attract their own audience.
  • Videos convert: they provide best ROI, increase conversions, sales and the front-page Google results.
  • People vastly prefer watching over reading: the human voice conveys emotion and rich information, movement captures and keeps people’s attention; we pay more attention to human faces as a gathering point for information (the fusiform facial area of our brain make us pay attention to faces).

As videos become increasingly popular, they provide the perfect complement to online marketing.

Regardless of whether the video is produced simply for fun, information or is intended to be instructional, it plays a critical role in any brand’s marketing strategy.

Online video is now an integral part of the digital consumers’ journey.
Internet users turn to video for all online activities, including entertainment, news, social sharing and shopping.

Accordingly to Cisco, 79% of all internet traffic in 2018 will be video.
Also the number of digital video consumers in the USA is expected to increase from 194.5 million this year to 212.5 million in 2018. Which means nearly 2/3 of the entire population.
